"Disappearing" Subitems

Subitems are frequently disappearing for me and I may notice later that they have moved under a different parent.
It is not clear how this is happening, but I noticed once that an item in my ToDo list moved under a different ToDo item when I just clicked on it (no dragging). I am not able to reproduce it, but I would of course like to prevent this from happening.
I assume it has something to do how IQ interpret my mouse clicks..?

Has anyone else experienced this?

Collapsing outline

Example:

1) I have a long outline with different sections expanded to different levels.

2) I want to select a section of the outline and collapse it to one level, while leaving the rest of the outline unaffected.

3) Select items>ctrl-left arrow

4) This collapses only the first or last item in the selected list.  Remaining items remain expanded.

Shouldn't this method work for expanding/collapsing sections of an outline?

Window position no longer restored

Hi. In 124.6, the unmaxed window position is no longer restored when re-starting IQ. I see that values are still being written to settings.ini but for some reason the window seems to appear in the same seemingly random spot every time.

I've also tried native Windows hacks like Shift-clicking the close button or double-clicking the top left window icon - but no dice.

Cheers

Calendar question

I usually create calendar events by dragging items from regular text grids to the Calendar, and these items are accordingly assigned by default to the Appointments calendar.

Sometimes I decide later to assign these items to some of my Google calendars. I can easily do this on an event-by-event basis by editing relevant events and changing the calendar to which they are assigned. However, is there any way to choose multiple events and then assign them to the Google calendar of my choice, and if so how?

Thanks!

up/down to exit grid cell edit mode and move to prev/next item

Submitted by jimspoon on 2024/02/12 10:07

On my desktop, if a grid cell is in edit mode, and the cursor is on the top/bottom line of the grid cell text, up/down will exit edit mode and the prev/next item will be highlighted (not put in edit mode though).

On my laptop, up/down on the top/bottom line of the cell being edited has no effect.  The current grid cell remains in Edit mode and the cursor remains at the same location.

Both desktop and laptop are set to edit in non-WYSIWYG mode.

I thought this might be controlled by an option in Tools > Options, but I didn't find such an option.

easiest method for voice recording -> transcription -> import to IQ

In the past I've had a reasonably easy method to make a quick voice recording and get it transcribed and into IQ -

(1) Android home screen shortcut opens up Gmail compose screen with "To:" field already filled in to send to my Infoqube emailtoiq Gmail address.

(2) In the Subject: field, enter a text abbreviation that Texpand app expands to a date/time stamp.

(3) Tap microphone icon in Gboard and start dictating - voice is transcribed and text goes into Subject field after the date/time stamp - this way the dictated text goes into the IQ Item field, not the Doc Pane.
