Unable to Browse to Open IQBase using the Getting Started screen

Hi Pierre.  I was playing around with InfoQube 0.9.117h build 7/30/2021 and I found this small issue, but I think it impacts an user's first impression of the software. Hopefully, it's not too hard to fix.

unable to display live search items in search grid

I entered a search phrase in the Omnibox and several hits showed up in the Live Search view.  Immediately I clicked the button "Show Items in the Search grid".  I got error messages: "Error opening grid.  Check grid source criteria" and "Error reading data.  Check the source, filter, and sort criteria".  The bar over the Search Grid displays "Items from: -- Filter: IDItem in ().

What could be the problem?

Also in the Live Search view, the Created column is displaying the date in the form in the form of a five digit number, i.e. "38172".

Live search needs second attempt

Very often now when I do a live search (after restarting IQ), on the first run, the results will be different, e. g. there will be no values in the "Shown In" column. When I focus the Omnibox and press Enter a second time with the same search term, I get the correct, extended results. Does anyone else experience this?

Custom Colors Transfer

Continuation of my new computer saga.  I followed the directions to transfer settings and this worked, for the most part.

But my custom colors were NOT transferred and that has me worried because my notes heavily rely on assigned colors (mostly fill colors).

Is there any chance I could lose my custom color assignments in this process?

1) Item has custom fill color "x" but "x" is no longer in the options settings

2) Item presumably displays with no fill color (or does it default to some nearby color?)

New Computer

I had to replace my computer (again).

1) Should I switch to the portable version?  I believe Pierre recommends that but I've used the full install for several years.  When I tried the portable version I had problems with losing my toolbar set up after updates (undoubtedly, my fault).

2) I still have my old C drive installation.  Can I recover settings from that? (toolbars, options settings, custom colors)

New items at grid bottom

Hey. The new modus operandi with new items appearing at the bottom of the grid is somewhat at odds with my workflow. One question, could there be a magic option where items that have associated calendar events still appear at the top of the grid? It's where I keep my appointments in my todo grid and now I always have to drag them all the way from the bottom to the top...

How to setup a file system in IQ

I am an ECCO user that is new to IQ and would like to have input on how to most efficiently set up IQ. I almost exclusively use ECCO as an outliner. In ECCO I
established a file for each subject. Each file would have a small number of related Notepads. The files would be kept in related folders on my computer. I am
questioning whether to use this method with IQ or to just have one IQ file with all my grids for all subjects. I could then group the grids in the one file. I

Could Evernote-Sync support assignment of fields as in email-to-IQ?

Suggestion:
Would it be possible that Evernote-Sync support the assignment of fields and tags as per email to IQ. Example below from https://infoqubeim.com/drupal5/node/2952 "Send to InfoQube using EmailToIQ".

Then we could add tags and fields to the Title of the Evernote entry and these would be parsed by IQ on sync.

View > History - Back and Forward commands - what do they do?

Submitted by jimspoon on 2021/07/01 12:36

I just discovered the View > History > Back and Forward commands and I'd like to understand what they do and don't do.  Last night I used the Back key (Ctrl+Shift+left) repeatedly to see what it does, along with the Forward key (Ctrl+Shift+right)

So far I can see that they move the focus from item to item within the same open grid.  Also they can change the current grid and focus on an item in the previously / subsequently viewed grid.  Will these commands reopen a closed grid?
