Card, Map, Surface views - use cases?

Submitted by LeftEccoForIQ on 2023/01/08 11:11

Hey. I see the card view mode getting constant update, plus I have never used the map or surface views either. Looks like this great piece of software is really wasted on me... :-( But I *am* beginning to feel I might be missing out on something though I've never missed any such view in 20+ years of outlining

Could anyone maybe give some examples of when / how they are finding these alternatives to the grid view useful? Is it mostly for presentation purposes, i. e. when showing content to other people?

Many thanks!

IQ Icon Jump list

Win 10

Ver 121pre8

I just recently stared working with multiple IQ databases.

I now notice the IQ icon on the taskbar does not show recently used items in a jump list (right click)

I have Jump lists turned on and use them for several other programs.

Can IQ Icon use jump lists?

IQ behavior when double-clicking a Tag name (to view the tagged content in a Scratch tab)

Feature request:

Current behavior: If I double-click the name of a Tag in the Tags pane, then the IQ content tagged with that particular Tag opens in a Scratch tab for viewing. Unfortunately, if I have one or more Scratch tabs already open (containing other content), then this action replaces the content in one of my already-open Scratch tabs (no data are lost; I just lose the view of the previous content, and I have to recall what content I had been viewing in that Scratch tab).

IQ handling of multiple Scratch tabs when IQ is closed and reopened

Feature request:

Current behavior: If I have multiple Scratch tabs open in IQ (each containing different content), when I close and reopen IQ, the Scratch tabs reopen (the same number of Scratch tabs) but the Scratch tabs all contain the same content (which is the content of one of the Scratch tabs prior to closing IQ). The net result is that I am not able to discern what content had been open in the other Scratch tabs (prior to closing IQ).

Copy/pasting the Web-link text as HTML doesn't populate the URL field.

Following up on the previous discussion regarding adding hyperlink to the URL field here: https://infoqubeim.com/drupal5/comment/26218#comment-26218.
I tried Firefox and Chrome (I don't use Edge) but the URL field is not populated (except for once). I even tried with a blank database.
