Feature request:

Current behavior: If I have multiple Scratch tabs open in IQ (each containing different content), when I close and reopen IQ, the Scratch tabs reopen (the same number of Scratch tabs) but the Scratch tabs all contain the same content (which is the content of one of the Scratch tabs prior to closing IQ). The net result is that I am not able to discern what content had been open in the other Scratch tabs (prior to closing IQ).

Requested behavior: IQ should remember the content of all open Scratch tabs on closing IQ, and on opening IQ each Scratch tab should be repopulated with its previous content.

Note: Just to clarify, no data are lost (the content reflected in the multiple Scratch tabs remain in the IQ database). My workaround has been to make a note of the content that I have open in each Scratch tab before I close IQ (so that I can manually reopen each Scratch tab with the previous content).

Thanks for considering this request.

Hi,

I understand the request, but unfortunately it isn't easy to implement. Each grid can have only one "definition" (source, filter, column set, display options, etc) and the simple rule is "the last one to save wins". The Scratch grid is just another grid and behaves as other do.

So your best bet is to save some of these scratch grids under a different name (Grid > Save As...). The bonus when using tags is that double-clicking on a tag will open that grid instead of the scratch grid

HTH !
