A problem with using "find" in the doc pane.

When I use "find" in the doc pane with an ordinary document, there are the following problems:

a) It doesn't work in browse mode, only edit mode. In browse mode, the "find" dialogue box opens, but instead of finding something, it just closes. (Edit: I see now it will highlight all places with the term to be found, but it won't move there, so the highlighted terms might not even be visible. Moreover, once one exits the find dialogue, the highlight vanishes.)

Markitdown

Just saw this article about MarkItDown, a utility that converts other file formats to Markdown. I'm wondering if it might be useful for converting documents that have an outline-type structure, but are in formats that IQ doesn't know how to import into the grid. If MarkItDown can convert those documents into good Markdown, perhaps IQ at some point will be able to import them from Markdown into a grid outline with the original outline structure preserved.

Calendar - create 8 day view

I am writing to see if it's possible to create an eight-day view to the calendar. Currently, the calendar offers 1, 3, 5, 7, and 31-day views, which are all very useful. However, an eight-day view would allow for a full week to be displayed from Saturday to Saturday, providing a more comprehensive and flexible overview of the week.

I believe this would be a valuable addition for many users who prefer to plan and organize their schedules based on a Saturday-to-Saturday week. Perhaps with a filter.

Thank you for your time and consideration. Any help would be appreciated.

Jumpy scrolling with vertical calendar multi-day views

For the 3 or 2-day view, vertical scrolling is very jumpy / choppy. Apparently you've set it up so that after scrolling ends, IQ adjusts the scroll state so that the topmost fully visible day is scrolled up to the top of the window. While this may be nice in theory, the effect is rather choppy and it sometimes feels like the scroll is moving backward almost as much as forward.

Problems erasing repeating calendar events

With several repeating calendar events I've had difficulties getting them to disappear from the calendar, even though I had never consciously created any exceptions from a series. In particular, there seems to be no effective 'nuke' option to get rid of everything connected with the event / item. I've tried:

1. Delete item(s) - no effect on the particular calendar event though I can now no longer find the item through live search. Which again seems strange as the item text is still in the database somehow, isn't it?

setting tags via Item field text, or Doc Pane text

Submitted by jimspoon on 2025/04/09 20:00

I was curious whether the presence of a hash tag in Item field text or Doc Pane text would be sufficient to set a tag in IQ.  For example, if I simply typed in "#tag" in the Item field or the Doc Pane.  It seems it does not.  Rather, from what I can tell, the only way to set a tag by typing in the Item field or Doc pane is to type "##" to activate the Tag Dialog and enter the tags through the dialog.  I also wondered whether a tag would be set if I opened a document (already containing hash tags e.g. "#tag") in the Doc Pane.  As I expected this did not happen.
