Gantt context menu

Submitted by Armando on 2018/08/27 10:41
Hi Pierre !
Is it possible to add options to the Gantt context menu (thinking of "Scroll to Today", for example) using the standard "customize" interface?
I can already assign shortcuts, which is good, so it's not an emergency.
Thanks!

Lost Settings

Submitted by WayneK on 2018/08/26 17:11
Computer crashed overnight with several InfoQube files open.  When I re-started this morning, it appears all my settings have been lost and options have reverted to default.  It's my own fault for not keeping a backup of options.ini file.  I'm trying to understand things better and would appreciate some help.

1) Where is the setting to put the grid tabs on the left side instead of the top?  Maybe it's functional blindness but I can't find it anywhere.

2) To avoid future loss of settings, I need to keep a back-up of settings.ini and options.ini.  Anything else?

3) I changed some options, saved, and exited InfoQube.  Why doesn't the options.ini file show that it's been changed?  It stills shows "modified" date of 5/1/18.
Got my answer: the "active" .ini file is in AppData folder and does update.  I was looking at the

Toolbar icons disappear (after opening About dialog)

Submitted by Tom on 2018/08/24 13:31
Clean portable 109c version (edit: windows7)
  1. open sample file (I chose with no data)
  2. menu: Tools >Help >About >Support Info (I copied IQ version info)
  3. close about dialogs
=> many of the toolbar icons disappear.

If I go to customise toolbars, and change icons to large, the icons show again -- but disappear again when I close customise menu.
Restarting IQ does not restore icons...

A stylish Table

The implementation of style sheets was a huge improvement in InfoQube.  However other programs are still able to do better tables.  The implementation of tables in InfoQube is good, cell borders can be dragged about to re size the table and amny formatting commands are available.

But many other programs allow the cell background colour to be set for each cell.  This is not the same as setting the background colour for the text in the cell.

Consider the following image taken from InfoQube :-

apply column filter to all items in grid, not just the first 1000 that are loaded?

Submitted by jimspoon on 2018/08/21 20:39
After I loaded the first 1000 of 1800 items that met the grid filter criteria, I applied a column filter.  Then I saw that the column filter was applied only to the first 1000 loaded items, not to the 1800 total items that met the other filter criteria.  Items that would have been shown if the column filter were applied to all 1800 items were not shown when only the first 1000 items were loaded.

Now when 1800 items meet the other criteria, it's not a big deal to refresh the grid to load all items.  But I also tried to load about 50,000 items into a grid in order to apply a column filter, but IQ froze when I tried to load that many items.

Would it make sense to apply the column filter to all the items that meet the other filter criteria?  Otherwise I have to filter the grid using another method, rather than a column filter.

Also I wonder if you could add an IDIOT button to abort gra

double-clicking Item field doesn't launch URL in URL field

Added during web site transition:
[quote=jimspoon]
If I double-click the Item field on an item that has a file specified in the FilePath and FileName fields, that file is loaded.

But if I double-click the item field on an item that has a URL in the URL field, the URL is not launched; it just puts the grid into edit mode.

Is that a bug or by design?

Hoisting Problem/Question

Submitted by David_H on 2018/08/19 23:02
I have a couple of grids where I am experiencing something strange and am not sure why or if I did something inadvertently to cause the issue. I have a grid where if I open it, it shows 0 items. I just created the gird the other day and it should only have 1 item.

So if I search for the item it instantly shows up in search. When I then click on the item from search the grid where I first expected to find it now opens and says (H1) on the tab, with the item appearing as it should, and the grid evidently hoisted on the item.

If I turn hoisting off, the item disappears. This confuses me, because in my mind hoisting works the opposite way, hoisting an item makes other non-hoisted items disappear. Whereas a non-hoisted grid should show all items. So why is the grid empty when hoisting is turned off, and the item only shows up when hoisting is turned on, on that item, which can only be found via search?
