Saving one email from Thunderbird saves two copies - 2 for the price of 1 :-)

Submitted by Tom on 2011/11/28 11:14
I use the "Copy selected email to IQ" button in Thunderbird to save emails. I hardly ever look at them in IQ - but I noticed lately that when one mail is selected & copied to IQ, the pop-up messages says two email saved to IQ.

  • You can see from the item created date that there are two copies of each mail.
  • One is marked as having been sent an hour later than the actual send time.

I notice now that if I forward an email I get this (date/time sent) in the header -
Date: Mon, 28 Nov 2011 15:45:23 +0100
the 15:45:23 is correct in this example but I dont know what the +0100 means - Any ideas there?

Maybe it's a bug with Thunderbird?
FWIW my timezone is GMT+1

Why is my "Renumber Items..." grayed out

Submitted by pejay on 2011/11/26 16:16
...and how do I manually sort my items so that it "holds"?

I keep changing my items manually, but as soon as I hit "Refresh" they go back to some order that I do not want and have not applied, no matter how many times I Save the grid.

Same thing when I close and reopen the file. I am in database which includes the sample data.

Hope somebody will help, thanks!

hierarchy equations not triggered when child value deleted [partially fixed]

Submitted by reesd on 2011/11/14 21:56
0.9.25W3 fixed two key hierarchy equations issues as described in [FIXED] Bugs with conditional column equations (important...), but it didn't fix this third issue.

I originally thought it was boolean related, but it seems to be a general problem of hierarchy equation not being triggered when a child's value is deleted.

To reproduce:
  • open sample db
  • go to TranscriptStats tab
  • select and delete a CourseGPA value for one of the items
  • the parent does not recompute (it should)
  • select the parent field and do shift-F9, the correct value is shown
It's worth noting that for booleans unchecking is the same as deleting (I think). So this is much more visible with booleans.

Option to show specific fields content in popup ?

Submitted by Armando on 2011/11/13 19:53
I think we discussed that at some point (maybe was it implemented but I can't find it ??)

Right now, when hovering the mouse cursor over a field in a grid, a popup appears giving some info (those infos -- and more -- are available with the "info" function too in the contextual menu).

I often want to quickly see the creation date. I know that what one wants to see is most often contextual, so... what about either :

1- an option (In the... "Options") to configure what's seen in these popups/notification pane
2- a new column in the fields property dialog ("show in notification pane")  with check boxes for each field, to turn display on or off... Or something Iike that.

Version 0.9.25W3 is now available

create recurring item outside of calendar

Submitted by jan_rifkinson on 2011/11/10 12:37
Is this possible?

Usage:
My address book serves as a matrix for many routine tasks

From my address book I select certain contacts which are bill related, i.e. tel co, electric co, etc
children of these items may equal tel notes, bills due, i.e. whatever activity occurs
In my address view I have a boolean field = bill
From this I have constructed a bill view which brings up all those bills & links to on line payment sites
To this view I've added bill due date, paid = boolean, paid date = date, priority = boolean, cost = currency number, Recurring = boolean

Using recurring field, can I construct a recurring date outside of the calendar view or is that only a calendar function?

Thanks

On my machine IE9 has screwed up my copy to IQ function <SOLVED>

Submitted by jan_rifkinson on 2011/11/06 12:29
yes, i am using the latest IQ.

I don't know what possessed me to update from IE8 to IE9 but I did it & now I can copy ANYTHING from FF (my default browser) to IQ either automatically or manually. Selection does not make to the clipboard.

And now IE8 doesn't want to install on my system which is running Win 7 Home Premium.

I am REALLY FRUSTRATED now.

Anyone have a fix? Please.

Search grid

I do a find and have the results displayed in the search grid. Context parents are enabled, but I see only the immediate parent. Is there any way to display the full lineage in the grid?

While I am on this, the lineage display on the status bar seems to work erratically. I am not claiming that it returns incorrect results, but it sometimes just does not work at all.

[FIXED] Bugs with conditional column equations (important...)

Submitted by Armando on 2011/11/01 13:44
There are 2 rather important bugs plaguing conditional column equations.

1- First one erases the data in the fields that include a conditional equation/function and no row equation

In a sample dB, "invoice" grid :
- In the field management dialog "total" field, remove the row equation
- back to the grid : check or uncheck the "billable" field : total values disappear and... it shouldn't

EDIT : forgot to add the workaround. If there's no equation in the row equation section of that field, just add a  "=[that field] " in the row equation section.
