Huge performance problems : IQ is super sluggish in certain cases.

Major problem.

- Creating a new sub-items usually takes about 3-8s (depending on the computer). Isn't that incredibly slow ?
20s-1 min for  6 items. This is a common problem and happens in ALL grids. Creating a top level item is quicker, for some reasons.

- Demoting/promoting an item takes a long time and a lot of CPU power too : 3-6s (depending on the computer) to move an item left/right. Drives me nuts. This is common and happens in ALL grids. Without any exceptions.

open form

Suggested option:

Open form (if exists) tied to a grid

The advantage to this is user can have grid with content, i.e. notes or whatever & enter other data like pending, date, etc in form

Right and left arrows move cursor to next and previous items when they should not

Submitted by jhondrick on 2009/03/26 18:55
The customize keyboard shortcuts for move up and move down seem to default to having no key associated with them.  However, the left and right and up and down arrows, respectively, all move the cursor in this way.  (EDIT: it seems the left and right arrows proceed through the columns and then to the previous or next item as Excel does when there are columns)

The typical, non-Excel, function of the left and right arrow keys is to  move the cursor within the field.
That this is not the function of the left and right arrow keys in Excel makes it useful for its function, but miserable for daily text handling.
This is also the case with SqlNotes.  The requirement to click a field or press a letter key before the cursor responds for text editing use kills the user friendliness of the product for data handling.

Intermittent Firefox web clipping crashes

Submitted by KeithB on 2009/03/26 13:04
I found when doing a large number of firefox web clippings (with the IQ web clipping extension) that IQ would occasionally crash right after a web clipping, perhaps an average of maybe every 40 or 50 clips or so.

I never could find a pattern of what might be causing it.

I was capturing partial web pages, not whole pages the entire time, then deleting superfluous graphics. I thought maybe the delete the graphics caused it, but it happened to clips not containing graphics also.

Maybe the average (sane) IQ user would never experience this, but it would be nice to have it totally robust for the occasional large volume web-clipping project.
