I'd love to be able to use Infoqube in my new job but the lockdown level is severe. I've put in several "new software requests" but they're stuck at the "manager approval" level. So the only thing I can use for outlining right now is Microsoft Word, and it's horrible as an outliner.
I guess it would be very hard for developers to get enough people in a big enterprise to see the usefulness of or need for an outlining software tool - even though it's perfectly obvious to me. Maybe a developer would have better luck if the outliner had direct output to the Microsoft Word docx format; or if the "real outliner" was implemented as a Word "add-in".

The portable flavor doesn't run on these systems? I wonder how they can block it...

I bet portable IQ would run - but i dare not run it without first securing approval, as much as I want to do so. The "acceptable use policy" forbids running any unapproved software. We were told things like, don't charge your phone off the company laptop, don't insert a USB flash drive into the company laptop, we will know if you did. So I think that their monitoring systems may be such that if I did run an unapproved EXE, they would be alerted and I'd get in trouble. 😞

I've experienced such a situation in the past. I got IQ approved (or was it Ecco, I forget) by slowly doing things and giving stuff to my boss that couldn't be done with stock software (i.e. MS stuff). Once he got curious, he got things moving.
Are personal phones and tablets allowed? You could remote desktop to your PC. Google remote desktop is really good.
