I open the "Find and Filter.." Dialogue and add a search word.
Scope = Entire File
Find/Filter Action = Show in Search Grid.
Match Field = item text
Match Type is grayed out
Add Filter= (none)

Clicking on "Find/Filter" results in a pop up error message dialogue in the center of the screen that I need to click OK:
"Error opening grid. check Grid source criteria"

If I close and reopen  "Find and Filter.." Dialogue and search again, I may instead get a transient status error message (in the lower right of screen):

"Error reading data. Check the source, filter and sort criteria"

I search for "viking" and I get:

Source= [Item] LIKE "*viking*"
Filter = (none)

Note: I created a new IQ database with sample data and get the same results.

p.s. I am currently  using v. 1.123.2 but I think that I had this issue with earlier versions as well.

It appears that there are some IQ setting/option(s) that is causing the issue.
I created a new portable install rather than overwriting my previous installation. I then didn't have this issue.

How can I figure out what IQ setting/option(s) is the culprit? I prefer to not have to set everything to default.

Is there some way to set default values for one category at a time to test on a copy of my current installation?
Are all setting/options stored in the settings.ini and options.ini files?
I tried to overwrite these files in the new installation with the files from my current problematic installation but it didn't cause the issue...Thus, there appears to be some setting/option(s) that is stored elsewhere.

Thanks for the files

But, the issue is not related to this, but to the default (none) filter. Select (none) from the list or just set it to blank

OK. That is confusing.
It is already set to (none) but, you are right, I need to select it from the list and set it to (none) to avoid the error. I am surprised that it has not affected more users.
Thanks.

I am surprised that it has not affected more users

Most users probably use the Omnibox, Live-Search or other direct search methods. This dialog is just a front end to other search fonctions

How do I ?
