(1) if the tab-indented text being imported has numbering, only the numbers get imported - at least this happened with roman numbers followed by a period.  Probably better for me if I strip the numbers anyway before importing, but might be nice if IQ took care of this.

(2) If I've already imported tab-indented text into a grid, and then import some more, the new imported text is imported at the top of the grid, even if bottom item is selected.

(3) if the top item is already indented one tab stop, nothing gets imported; an import works only if there is an item that begins at the start of the line.

(4) a non-import annoyance - when selecting and deleting multiple contiguous TLIs - there is a prompt asking me if I want to delete the subitems for every item that has subitems.  There's no way to tell IQ to delete all the subitems of all the selected items.

By the way, just in case anyone finds these workarounds useful, until these issues are resolved: for (2), it can sometimes work better to paste as tab-indented text instead of importing. And for (4), you can first indent all the TLIs under one TLI and then delete.

Thank you Lucasd, that is very useful.  I think I remember being able to paste a tab-indented outline with just a Ctrl+V paste?  But I am glad to have found it under Paste Special.  In my case where I am dealing with many such little outlines, it's a lot easier to do it with a paste then going through the import process.
