Hi all.

I've had this idea that it would be great to have this in a calendar:

E. g. in month view, say today is the 5th and I have some event on the 25th that mustn't lose track of and perhaps need to generate todos for as the date comes closer. So there'd be a kind of reminder field, in which I'd state e. g. how many weeks before the event date the event becomes 'hot' / relevant and then I want there to be something like a coloured line drawn in the view from the event in question to today's date. If I click on the line, the calendar would jump back and fourth between today and the event with this 'tickler' (in case it is in another month in the future).

Does this make any sense? It should look a bit like the attached Gantt chart, except that the events would mostly be one-day ones, but I would something like the dotted line in the image to connect those events with today's date. Does anyone know of a tool that does something like this?

I think Ecco ticklers were like this, but only as a list of upcoming events. Is anyone doing something like this in a grid in IQ?

I do use IQ's new reminders app, but it's somewhat invasive and makes you use definited points in time, e. g. 1w, 5d, 2d before the event rather than a timespan and being permanently visible.

Any input on how to achieve at least a tickler list in IQ (ideally inside a grid rather than in a different window as with the current reminder) would be welcome. Alternatively, please point out any calendar-type tools that may have such a feature.

Hi Left!

The sample IQBase and the Welcome to IQ IQBase have a grid named To-Do's. It uses a number of fields (Urgency, Due, %Done) to assign an item color, which is updated each day. This color is shown in the Calendar.

Could this do the trick for you?

The other option is of course to use the new Reminders feature...
