I have read the book page on Display Modes.
I have these items, currently shown in Outline (normal) display mode:
z

I want only want to display Parents and Children that meet the grid source in outline mode, i.e. Parent1 and Parent2 with Child & Child2.
Is that possible?
If I use Source Item (Tree View), I get this:
z

Parent2 shows what I wanted and expected. However, Parent1 shows children that don't meet the grid source.

It is even more confusing if I use the Flat List:
z

Then Parent2's children "qqq" & "www" are shown...???

Flat list is designed to be flat i.e. without hierarchy. It shows all items meeting grid source at the top level. So your Children 1 & 2 should also be shown at top level -- are they?

You (I) would then normally view the flat list grid without sub-items expanded. I find the inclusion of context parents (item #9 in your screenshot) does make things confusing. If choosing flat view would (auto-) collapse all items and remove context parents, things would be clearer -- all items shown would meet grid source (I'm unable to check exactly how it works right now).

Hi Viking,

As others have said, please show the display after a refresh. Some items will be collapsed. This is by design

As Wayne said, you can apply a column filter if you want, though the default view should do the job.

n.b. Flat list works best when you turn off context parents, as it adds a hierarchy to what is supposed to be flat

Hi Pierre,

The 1st image shows the grid in Outline (normal) display mode
The 2nd and 3rd images shows respective modes after refresh.

Let's discuss at next CS..

Retest as I cannot reproduce your images. In my tests:

  1. In image 2, Parent1 is collapsed on refresh
  2. In image 3, both Parent1 and Parent2 are collapsed. The context parent Parent2 is expanded. As I said, the primary use of flat view is to properly sort. Showing context parents is not always useful
How do I ?
