hi,

have been having some problems using the Journal grid. First I wondered why every item I created there was disappearing. Finally worked out it was because the date filter was on and it was set to May 2020. Maybe this should be removed? Having used IQ before I knew enough to check for a date filter but a new user might not.

Anyway having discovered that - how do I remove the date filter? I know I can turn the filter off, but is there any way of just removing it - making it blank? Or does the last filter you enter remain in place (toggle-able) until you replace it with a new one?

Also, I would like to make the source of Journal be [Journal], i.e. the grid itself, rather than everything (i.e. no source specified). However I can't see that the field [Journal] appears anywhere such that I can make it the source.

I appreciate that Journal is meant to pick up everything and apply a date filter to it. I want something different as a Journal grid, and I guess I could just create a new grid called Journal and delete the existing one.  However I'd rather keep the existing grid if possible, just alter it in the way I've mentioned.

cheers

David F.

Hi David,

  1. The whole idea of the Journal is to view items by date. Click on the Today button to reset the filtered date. I'll see what can be done to help new users, as it can indeed be confusing
  2. do Grid > Source bar to modify what items are shown in the grid. If you do not have a field named "Journal", create one (Y/N type most likely) and then yes, you can set the source to that field

HTH !

How do I ?
