1) Manage Grids> select grid> right-click> delete> save> close

2) Re-open Manage Grids> [grid that was just deleted is back in the grid list]

I've been deleting a lot of grids the past few days and the re-appearance of grids after they have been deleted has occurred dozens of times.  I have carefully verified that I'm not just mis-remembering.  Just now deleted 6 grids, and when I re-opened Manage Grids, all of them were back.

Doesn't happen every time, but happens a lot.

Hi Wayne,

I'll try to reproduce it and provide a fix in the next version

Do you have multiple instances of IQ running ? (in case it could be related to that)

Yes, I have multiple instances running.

  1. When you have multiple instances, you should limit system changes (forms, grids, fields, menus and toolbars) to just one instance. Making changes on different instances can lead to the kinds of things you're reporting
  2. Changes to the data (item text, doc pane, field values, tags) can be made on any instance
  3. Grids may not update when data changes are made in other instances. Setting Tools > Options 2.4.9 (multi-user) helps, but this hasn't been fully tested. Press F5 to refresh a grid as a safe measure

My apologies.  I blanked out on what multiple instances means.  I have multiple InfoQube files open.  I do not have multiple instances of the same file open.

My apologies

No apologies needed ! My comment was misleading. Multiple instances with different files should not cause this. It can however causes menus/toolbar changes to be lost (last one closed wins)

The problem might be related to deleting grids that are currently open.

It closes the grid and deletes it from the list but then re-instates it the bottom of the list when you hit "save" .

Don't know if that explains all the disappearances but it seems to be a good candidate for the trigger.

Indeed, the issue happens when the grid is shown. In v117Pre7:

  • Fixed: Manage Grids: Deleting a grid that is currently shown did not work
