I am curious about Infoqube's behavior when I press Enter to create a New Item in a grid.

Say I am editing an Item that is not the bottom item in the grid, i.e. there are more items below the current item.  If I press Enter to finish editing the item, create a new item immediately under the current item, and move to that new item - there is a considerabe delay.

I have found that creating new items is a lot more zippy if I go to the bottom of the grid and press Enter a number of items to create several new items.  Then, as I continue entering more items in the grid, I just press the Down Arrow key to move from item to new item and enter my text.   I'm wondering why this might be so.

Also ... a separate issue - I wish rearranging items using the Alt+arrow keys were a lot zippier.   Right now for me, there is a considerable delay between my alt+arrow press and the actual movement of the item.

Jim,

I've had the same issue which was discussed here:  http://www.sqlnotes.net/drupal5/index.php?q=node/3226

There seems to be some relationship between number of items displayed and slowness of response in creating items but it isn't always consistent.  I've had the problem when only a few items are displayed.

The solution I'm using right now is to keep a buffer of 10-20 blank items at the bottom of my grid.  As I get down to 10 or so left, I copy those, move to the bottom, and paste them to create a new buffer.  You can repeat this several times to create a bigger buffer.  There has been no more delay in pasting 20 items than there is creating one item.

Additional thought: There is one minor annoyance with this method.  If you close and re-open InfoQube, the blank items get sorted to the top of the list.
